Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2018 at Friendship Baptist Church in Friars Point. The Rev. Robert Watkins will officiate.

Century Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Clarksdale Police will be participating in the nationwide Click-It-Or-Ticket campaign for the Memorial Day Weekend and will be on the lookout for residents driving in the city without proper restraint.

Gary Ellis Brown, 73, a retired Insurance Agent with Cigna Mutual of Omaha, passed away Wednesday May 22, 2019 at Northwest MS Regional Medical Center. Visitation is was 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday May 25, 2019 at Riverside Baptist Church in Clarksdale. Funeral services were 2 p.m.

Anthony Ray Saffold, 55, of Clarksdale died June 2, 2019 at Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

Funeral service is at noon Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Greater Centennial Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Josh Stokes officiating. Burial will be at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Lyon.

Shortly after attending Clarksdale crime forum, man shot during robbery

Less than an hour after he’d attended a community meeting on crime Monday night, a 44-year-old Clarksdale man was shot multiple times during a robbery at his home.

Darry Jenkins sustained several gunshot wounds in the robbery at his residence along the 400 block of Garfield Street.
