A viewing will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2020 at Delta Burial Funeral Home in Clarksdale.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Lyon.

Albert Holman Williams, 76, born in Davenport on April 20, 1944, died Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was a Clarksdale resident and graduated from Coahoma Agricultural High School (“Aggie”). He received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Tugaloo College.

Freddie Lenard Sr., 72, Clarksdale died March 17, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. Public viewing is 2 to 5 p.m. May 22, 2020 at Hornburger-Byas Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at noon May 23, 2020 at Springfield Cemetery with pastor James Bennett presiding.  Arrangements are entrusted Hornburger-Byas Funeral Home.

Coahoma County’s population has decreased by close to 3,000 residents since 2010, according to U.S. Census data, and local high school coaches are feeling the impact with fewer talented athletes on their teams.

The estimated population was 26,145 in 2010 and it dropped to an estimated 23,154 in 2017.
