Cozetta Maiden White, 97, of Clarksdale died Monday, May 25, 2020 in Cordova, Tenn.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2020 at Delta Burial Funeral Home in Clarksdale.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Lyon.



James Crutcher

The Rev. James Michael Crutcher was born July 21, 1954 in Clarksdale to the late Clarence Thomas Crutcher, Sr. and the late Edna Earl Moore (Crutcher) Burns. Bro. Crutcher passed away at his home in Hamilton as a result of pulmonary fibrosis. He died April 18, 2020 at age 65.

Eddie Bee Jr., 68, of Friars Point died at Merit Health in Clarksdale.

Public viewing is 2 to 5 p.m. May 29, 2020 at Hornburger-Byas Funeral Home.

George Henderson, 74, of Detroit, Mich. died Jan. 15, 2020 at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Mich.  At 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 public viewing was at Mt. County to pay $14 per hour for security at Clarksdale Federal Building

When individuals were staying in the Federal Building on Sharkey Avenue at night several years ago, Wood & Wood Security began to have guards in the facility.

The service began during Daniel Vassel’s tenure as county administrator in 2010, but there was no official contract.


City of Clarksdale hosting free barbecue dinner on Valentine's Day

The city of Clarksdale is inviting the public to come out and fall in love with the city of Clarksdale and its employees during an event scheduled for Valentine’s Day.

The city will be hosting a free barbecue lunch at noon Thursday at the Clarksdale Civic Auditorium Annex at 506 E. Second St.



Billy Joe Williams

Billy Joe Williams, 81, went to be with the Lord Monday morning April 20, 2020, at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford. Billy Joe was born in Sumne, on March 25, 1939, to his parents Joe and Lily Rogers Williams. Billy Joe was married to Meadie Rice Williams for 43 years.
