The Clarksdale Police Department is investigating two shootings with three people hit and hurt in these latest incidents of gun-violence.
Clarksdale reported two men shot in the chest last weekend and reports of shots fired in Clarksdale are being reported routinely to police.
L.C. Moore, 54, of Clarksdale died June 23, 2020 at his residence.
Memorial services are 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Friars Point with the Rev. Joe Sawyer officiating.

Toni Marie Nassar, 65, died July 2, 2020, at Northwest Mississippi Medical Center.
An accident occurred in downtown Clarksdale on the corner of East Second Street and Delta Avenue at around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Members of the Clarksdale Police Department and Pafford Emergency Medical Services were at the scene.
It was a busy weekend for the Clarksdale Police Department with a man shot in the chest another hit in the leg, a car stolen and five reports of shots fired.
All are currently under investigation and the community is being asked to help solve these crimes, help police make an arrest and stop the violence.
The Mississippi State Department of Health will be in Clarksdale Monday to once again offer tests for COVID-19.
The testing will be held at the Coahoma County Youth Outreach Expo Building on Wildcat Drive from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. June 8.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Clarksdale with burial in the Oakridge Cemetery.
The crush started at Walmart Thursday night as the community geared up for Gov. Tate Reeves' order to shelter in place until April 20.

Clarksdale Police are seeking information on a shooting early Thursday morning that sent a man to a Memphis hospital. Police are also seeking information on three burglaries reported Wednesday.

Coahoma met some highs and lows in the 2018 football season. Head Coach Steven Miller is pressing forward to make a significant improvement in 2019. The Tigers hit the field for spring practice this week to in preparation for the upcoming football season this fall.
Eddie Charles “Smitty” Smith was born on Nov. 27, 1935, to the late Emres and Rosie Lee Cole-Smith in Friars Point. He passed away Monday, May 14, 2018.
Smitty joined Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. L. C. Tyler.
