Dollie Mae Blue

Dollie Mae Blue, 67, of Clarksdale died at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis Saturday, April 4, 2020.

Funeral services are 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Lyon. The family is officiating the ceremony. Burial is at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Lyon. Visitation is at graveside.

Coahoma County virus count at 26 as of Friday

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Coahoma County rose by four Friday and now stands at 26 after the county first reported two cases on March 18.

There still have not been any Coahoma County deaths attributed to COVID-19. With the community now 17-days into the pandemic, it is apparent some of those 26 have gotten well.

Gary Ellis Brown, 73, a retired Insurance Agent with Cigna Mutual of Omaha, passed away Wednesday May 22, 2019 at Northwest MS Regional Medical Center. Visitation is was 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday May 25, 2019 at Riverside Baptist Church in Clarksdale. Funeral services were 2 p.m.




Herman Andrew Jaco, Sr.

Herman Andrew Jaco, Sr., 65, formerly of Clarksdale and of Hodges, Ala., passed away Monday May 20, 2019. Visitation is Thursday, May 23, 2019, 1 to 2 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church in Clarksdale. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Riverside Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS.
