Clarksdale native Dr. Reed Hogan proposes treatment for COVID-19

JACKSON -- It began with a treatment for skin inflammation. Then, Reed Hogan II, MD, began pondering if an inexpensive, available, over-the-counter treatment might also work in severe gastrointestinal illness, much of it caused by inflammation.

The Clarksdale native was seeing success. Then, COVID-19 hit.

Alice B. King, 76, of Clarksdale, born April 30, 1944, died.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. June 13 at Century Funeral Home wih the Rev. LC Tyler officiating. Burial was at Heavenly Rest Memorial Garden. Visitation was 1 to 5 p.m. June 12 at Century Funeral Home.

Century Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Pearlie Mae Fair

Pearlie Mae Fair, 79, born Aug. 16, 1940, died at Desoto Nursing Home in Southaven Jan. 16, 2020.

Funeral services are noon Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 at Century Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksdale. Burial is at McLaurin Cemetery in Lyon. Visitation is noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2020.

Lavon D. Dye

Lavon D. Dye, 87, of Randolph, a retired security guard with Sunshine Mills in Tupelo, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at University Medical Center in Jackson.

Mr. Dye was a U.S. Air Force veteran, where he guarded the atomic bomb. He loved gardening and farming. He also raised miniature horses, llamas, cows and ducks.
