Mrs. Gail Jacks Dixon, 82, long time resident of Clarksdale passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 at her home. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m.
James Edward Davis, 70, of Clarksdale, born April 27, 1950, died.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. June 12 at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Visitation is at Century Funeral Home from 1 to 5 p.m. June 11.

Glynn Busby, 50, of Clarksdale died May 29, 2020. Public viewing is 2 to 5 p.m. June 5, 2020 at Hornburger-Byas Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at Heavenly Rest Cemetery June 6, 2020.

Nathaniel Moore, 61, of Clarksdale, born April 10, 1959, died.
Funeral services were May 29. Burial was at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Visitation was 1 to 5 p.m. May 28 at Century Funeral Home.

The Clarkdale Police Department has arrested a man in connection with a shooting that occurred in mid March.
Officers arrested Dantarius Williams, 25, on a warrant for aggravated assault that had been issued on March 18, following an incident where a man was shot in the foot following an incident on State Street.
A Clarksdale man has been arrested for shooting at a car occupied by two women early Wednesday morning.
Clarksdale Police responded to a call at 1:28 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Nebraska and State streets in reference to the shooting.
After taking a year off, McKinley Scott saw an opportunity to get back into coaching and build a program.
The Coahoma County School District board voted to name Scott the Coahoma County Red Panthers’ high school football coach during the May board meeting. Scott succeeds Mario Lane, who was the coach for two seasons.

The Clarksdale Police Department responded to the 500 block of Catalpa Street at 2:34 a.m. June 1 following a phone call that a man had been shot.
Quitman County Community Work Center escapee Walter Lee Lewis is now in custody.
Lewis, 31, was arrested around 2 p.m. Friday without incident in Fulton and will be returned to prison.
It is not known how Lewis made it to Fulton or if he had help making his escape Thursday.

Clarksdale Police are seeking information on a shooting early Thursday morning that sent a man to a Memphis hospital. Police are also seeking information on three burglaries reported Wednesday.

Billy Joe Williams, 81, went to be with the Lord Monday morning April 20, 2020, at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford. Billy Joe was born in Sumne, on March 25, 1939, to his parents Joe and Lily Rogers Williams. Billy Joe was married to Meadie Rice Williams for 43 years.
The city of Clarksdale is inviting the public to come out and fall in love with the city of Clarksdale and its employees during an event scheduled for Valentine’s Day.

Molly Jane Tolar Franks, 67, passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2019 in Clarksdale. Born on Aug. 3, 1952 in Clarksdale, she was the daughter of the late Sam V. Tolar, Sr. and Bernice Rowland Tolar.
Mrs. Franks graduated from Clarksdale High School and Delta State College. She served in the Army for six years, achieving the rank of Captain.
