It looks like you are going to get another stimulus check in the next month or two.
For those that got one last time around, it looks like you will get the same amount this time.
But I don’t always trust government at any level to do exactly what it says.
Have you ever heard this phrase? “The check’s in the mail.”
With much fanfare and the cameras rolling, Clarksdale signed on the dotted line for a $7.4 million check to pay for infrastructure projects Monday.
The Mayor and Board of Commissioners will now allocated the money to begin construction on five and possibly six big street, drainage and flooding projects around the city.

Police attempted to pull over a red Kia about 11:30 a.m. Saturday and when it failed to stop police pursued it until it wrecked.
Walmart has not closed and shoppers continue to come in seeking -- well, toilet paper.
"We are open and we have items on the shelf," said Walmart manager Sam Conner. "We get trucks everyday and stock it when we get it."

When I think of our community, the phrase that comes to mind is “sunlight is the best disinfectant.”
It’s summer in Mississippi. Sunshine is plentiful. But when you take a closer look at Clarksdale, there are many dark corners in need of sunlight.
A Clarksdale native who is the senior economist with the University Research Center of the Mississippi Institution of Higher Learning recently spoke before the Rotary Club of Cleveland on the intersection of expungement and economic growth in Mississippi.
Jewel Moore Williams, 91, a homemaker, passed away Dec. 27, 2019 at her home. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2019 at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Visitation will also be 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019, with the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Meredith-Nowell Chapel in Clarksdale with burial in the Memorial Gardens.
