Dorothy Mae Stevenson, 83, of Clarksdale died Sunday, May 31, 2020 at her home.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Delta Burial Funeral Home in Clarksdale.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Lyon.
JONESTOWN—Gov. Tate Reeves has lifted restrictions allowing more businesses to open throughout the state of Mississippi, but with the amount of coronavirus cases in Jonestown, the town will still close at 8 p.m. daily.
Mayor Kenny Lester made the announcement during the city council meeting Monday.

The Clarksdale Police Department is investigating a shooting after a man was dropped off at the emergency room with multiple gunshot wounds.
Markevius Dear told police in the hospital he did not know how he made it to the emergency room of Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in Clarksdale.
Clarksdale recorded its third homicide for 2020 with the death of a local man late last night.
Police were called to the 100 block of 17th Street about 11:45 p.m. Thursday after a citizen called saying a man was lying in the street and had been shot.
Coahoma County saw no new cases of COVID-19 reported Monday and it was the first time the local number has not increased since the first case was reported March 18.
The county currently has 38 confirmed cases of the disease and one fatality attributed to the disease on April 4.

When I think of our community, the phrase that comes to mind is “sunlight is the best disinfectant.”
It’s summer in Mississippi. Sunshine is plentiful. But when you take a closer look at Clarksdale, there are many dark corners in need of sunlight.
