* 1700 block of Evans Street, residence was shot into and no one was injured.

Joani Karololine Howell, 39, received her angel wings on Friday, May 4, 2018, at her home in Memphis, Tenn.
Joani was welcomed on this earth by her parents, Joey and Lawanda Howell of Sardis, on Oct. 28, 1979.
She was a native of Batesville and attended South Panola High School.
Gary A. Boykin Jr., 52, of Hernando, with Mayer Marketing and formerly with the Clarksdale Press Register, died Jan. 3, 2020 at Baptist Desoto in Southaven. Visitation was 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020 at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Funeral services were 2 p.m.
