Albert Holman Williams, 76, born in Davenport on April 20, 1944, died Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was a Clarksdale resident and graduated from Coahoma Agricultural High School (“Aggie”). He received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Tugaloo College.
Clarksdale will be under executive orders at least one more week as the Board of Mayor and Commissioners decided to mirror the state’s leadership and follow the Governor's guidelines.
“We are in the midst of the second wave of COVID-19 cases in Mississippi,” said Clarksdale Mayor Chuck Espy. “We have seen an uptick and I want to remind people roaming around, if you don’t have essential business to do, go home.”

Sammy L. Cotton, 67, of Clarksdale died May 30, 2020 at his residence. Public viewing is 2 to 5 p.m. June 5, 2020 at Hornburger-Byas Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Heavenly Rest Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. June 6, 2020 with Pastor Kenny Watson presiding.

Kathlean Baker, 86, of Chicago, Ill., died Thursday, May 7, 2020 at her home.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, May 15, at Delta Burial Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Lyon.

Molly Jane Tolar Franks, 67, passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2019 in Clarksdale. Born on Aug. 3, 1952 in Clarksdale, she was the daughter of the late Sam V. Tolar, Sr. and Bernice Rowland Tolar.
Mrs. Franks graduated from Clarksdale High School and Delta State College. She served in the Army for six years, achieving the rank of Captain.
Anita Antone, 79, a Clarksdale resident who was retired from FedEx, died Monday, March 25, 2019, at the Clarksdale Nursing Home.
Ms. Antone loved her pets. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church
She was preceded in death by her parents, Steaner Augustine Antone and Ida Marie Sbravati Antone.
