She was the beloved wife of Terry Troy; loving mother of Josh Troy and Scott Troy; dear sister of Stuart (Rann) Lasine and Arlene (Neil) Kaplan; cherished daughter of the late Jack and Fay Lasine; and fond aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Betty Jo Burchfield, 69, a beautician, died May 13, 2020 at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown in Germantown, Tenn. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2020 at Magnolia Gardens in Charleston with burial in the Magnolia Gardens. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.


Charlie Prowell

Charlie Prowell, 89, of Clarksdale, born May 22, 1930, died April 25, 2020.

Graveside services are 1 p.m. April 30 at McLaurin Memorial Garden with the Rev. Todd officiating. Visitation is 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 29 at Century Funeral Home.

Century Funeral Home is handling arrangements.



James Crutcher

The Rev. James Michael Crutcher was born July 21, 1954 in Clarksdale to the late Clarence Thomas Crutcher, Sr. and the late Edna Earl Moore (Crutcher) Burns. Bro. Crutcher passed away at his home in Hamilton as a result of pulmonary fibrosis. He died April 18, 2020 at age 65.

County boys set to take on Potts Camp at 3 p.m. Friday

The Coahoma County High School boys are one game away from winning their third Class 2A state championship in four years.

Potts Camp, a former division opponent, is the one team standing in the way of the Red Panthers (23-10, 9-1). The Cardinals and Red Panthers will face off in the state championship at 3 p.m. Friday at Ole Miss.

Patricia Clark, 50, of Clarksdale died Friday, February 28, 2020 at home in Clarksdale.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2020 at Delta Burial Funeral Home in Clarksdale.
