He was born July 21, 1942 in Columbus to Willie White and George Evans Jones, Sr. He was a Pharmacy Clerk for 15 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church. George was a Veteran of the Army National Guard.

Someone may have jumped off the Helena Bridge over the Mississippi River early Tuesday morning and authorities are looking for a man and information about him.
The West Helena Police Department received a call about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday of an unoccupied SUV on the bridge with the lights on and the driver’s door open.
