We are very upset at the criminal justice system in Clarksdale.
The case of the two men who are accused of killing our loved one, Myrtle Messenger, has not gone to trial and keeps getting continuances.
It has been two years since the passing of former Clarksdale High School assistant football coach and head track coach Melvin Sinquefield but his memory still lingers in those of us who knew and loved the man.
Willie Williams, 66, died Oct. 24, 2019 at Saint Francis Hospital - Memphis. Funeral services are noon Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 at Union Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Luster Tyler officiating. Burial is at McLaurin Memorial Garden. Visitation is 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 at Century Funeral Home.
The Southern Debutante Assembly held its 2018 Presentation and White and Gold Ball on the evening of Dec. 28 at the Greenwood Country Club. Thirty-three debutantes were presented to society at the event.
