Eleanor Herren, 86, of Lilburn, Ga., passed away on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Oscar Herren, in 2013.
She is survived by her twin sister, Elsie Carroll. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rickey Thomas Herren and his wife Melani, and their children, Brittany, Matthew and his wife Nidia, and Alison Earnhardt and her husband Joey; great-granddaughter, Julia Elizabeth Earnhardt; daughter, Brenda Herren Stewart and her husband Kevin, and their daughter Jennifer Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Herren was born on July 6, 1932, in Merigold.
She was retired from the CDC after 20-plus years of service. She served as historian, secretary and then president of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Avondale Chapter, for a couple of terms.
Mrs. Herren was a devoted Christian and a member of the Lucerne Baptist Church.
The funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Eleanor Herren will be held on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville, Ga. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, from 6 until 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
