Local bank tutors Sherard Elementary students on finances

The Mississippi Banking Association’s program “A Banker in Every Classroom ” brings together Mississippi bankers and teachers at the local level to promote financial literacy.  

On Tuesday, Nov. 27, the fifth- and sixth-grade students at Sherard Elementary were visited by Megan Denton of First National Bank of Clarksdale.

Andre’ Kennebrew, who has a 12-year tenure with the fast-food franchise Chick-fil-A, recently  talked to personnel and student leaders of Coahoma Community College, as well as Coahoma Early College High School, on the interpersonal skills it takes to lead a successful life.







Lee cheerleader to perform at Disney World on Thanksgiving Day

Savannah Oakes, an eighth-grader from Lee Academy in Clarksdale, was selected as one of more than 500 elementary, junior high and high school cheerleaders and dancers from across the country that will represent Varsity Spirit in the 2018 Thanksgiving Tour at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.






St. Elizabeth School honor roll

St. Elizabeth School recently announced its honor roll for the first nine week grading period.

Pastor’s List (All A’s) honors went to sixth-grader Rachel Thornton, fourth-graders Cooper Flowers, Colton Dixon, Harris Stonestreet and Kayln Matthews, and third-graders Lucy Beth Anthony and Callie Jo Griffin.
