What initially was thought to be a simple shoplifting incident has grown in to an arrest for felony possession of drugs.
Clarksdale Police were called to a local business at 9:40 a.m. Sunday to check out an alleged shoplifter and a subsequent search of the suspect uncovered what police believe to be a large amount of illegal narcotics.
Police reports said Thaddeus Miller Sr., 42, no address or hometown given, was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance.
Police reports did not state the type of illegal drugs seized or the amount allegedly in Miller's possession.
Police also charged Miller with two misdemeanor charges for simple possession of marijuana and shoplifting.
Police reports indicate Miller was placed in the Coahoma County Jail waiting on a bail hearing from a municipal court judge.
