David L. 'Bud' Hester

David L. “Bud” Hester, 79, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

He was born Sept. 27, 1939, in Roxie, son of the late Lee and Jewel Butler Hester.



Joyce Holloway Simpson

Joyce Holloway Simpson, 86, a Clarksdale resident and music teacher since 1958, died Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Oxford Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Simpson accompanied her husband for 65 years in his ministry of music. She also was a member of the Wind Assemble and member and organist at Riverside Baptist Church.





H.D. King, Jr.

H.D. King, Jr., 92, who was retired from Wonder Bread, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at his home in Clarksdale.

Mr. King was a Mason and an avid gardener.

Curtis Lee Gary, 55, of Sherard, died Saturday, March 9, 2019, at his home.

Visitation will be held this Friday, March 22, 2019, at Woolf Funeral Home at 761 McKinley St. in Clarksdale.

Beverly Lenard, 53, of Southaven, died Saturday, March 16, 2019, at her home.

A public viewing will be held Friday, March 22, 2019, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Delta Burial Funeral Home, 615 S. State St. in Clarksdale.



Jerome Jan Collins

Jerome Jan Collins, 54, of Clarksdale, died Friday, March 15, 2019, at his home.

A visitation service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 9 a.m. at Delta Burial Funeral Home, 615 S. State St. in Clarksdale, with a funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.


Alice Thelma Cochran

Alice Thelma Cochran, 86, of Clarksdale, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at her home.

A public viewing was held Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Delta Burial Funeral Home and a funeral service was held Sunday, March 17, 2019, at the New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksdale with the Rev. Kenneth Gooden presiding.
