Eddie Charles “Smitty” Smith was born on Nov. 27, 1935, to the late Emres and Rosie Lee Cole-Smith in Friars Point. He passed away Monday, May 14, 2018.
Smitty joined Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. L. C. Tyler.
Ruby Maurice Gordon Willis, 82, died at her home in Stewart on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.
She was born in Coahoma County on April 27, 1936, to Odes Lee and Ruby Corinne Robertson Gordon.
She was a retired employee of Choctaw County Schools and a retired seamstress.

Betty was the widow of Louie Henderson Hopkins.
Jewel Hopkins Frank, 91, passed away in Morton, Miss., on Thursday, April 26, 2018, after a short illness.
Born on Jan. 28, 1927, she was a longtime former resident of Clarksdale and worked for Powers and Company for many years.
She leaves behind a son, William R. Allen, and a daughter-in-law, Deborah R. Allen, both of Forest.
