Katherine Furr, 89, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019, at her home in Lawrenceville, Ga.

Katherine loved serving Coahoma County for 16 years as a county supervisor. She was a very dedicated lady.

Burdine, Grant headline 'For the Love of Books' fundraiser

The event raises funds for the Community Book Talks Lecture Series, which has featured a number of authors throughout the years.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 8, 2019, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Woolf Funeral Home Chapel.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 1 p.m. at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at 835 Florida St. in Clarksdale.

Dwight S. Walls Sr., 65, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, at his home in Southaven.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, at Century Funeral Home at 506 Ashton Ave. in Clarksdale.

June Geneva Stanton Harvey, 73, of Jackson, died Saturday, March 2, 2019, at her home.

She was a longtime resident of Rena Lara and an educator for many years in the Coahoma County public school system, teaching at Friars Point Elementary School until her retirement in 1997.
