What to do with all that rain that falls from the sky?

I love rain, to a point. I love how it cascades in rivulets from my back deck’s corrugated tin top, how it refreshes the birds’ baths.

And overall it’s a good thing. Makes our trees grow so well, saving us from having to decide between a cactus-filled xeriscape landscape or dragging hoses to keep thirstier plants alive.

There will be a public viewing from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at Delta Burial in Clarksdale.

Helen B. Luster, 72, of Walls, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto in Southaven.

Ground Zero's Thanksgiving Eve Blues Party raises money for Sunflower River Fest

A spectacular lineup of blues superstars including Anthony “Big A” Sherrod, “Big T” Williams, Lucious Spiller and James “Super Chikan” Johnson has been booked for the annual Thanksgiving Eve Blues Party at Ground Zero.

The event takes place Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale.


Rebecca Ethel Johnson

Rebecca Ethel Johnson, 83, an activities director at the SLA Jones Activity Center, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at the Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in Clarksdale. 

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and the VFW Auxiliary.
