The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) baseball team is taking an “Us Against the World” attitude as it proceeds through postseason play, or, as we like to say down South, us against “all y’all.”
‘Southern Miss vs. All Y’all”, a new slogan developed in a collaboration between the USM Office of University Communications, the Southern Miss Athletics Department, and the Southern Miss Alumni Association, celebrates the Golden Eagles’ capture of the 2022 Conference USA regular season baseball title and advancement into postseason play. Formally announced May 20, the slogan will also be utilized to recognize the accomplishments of the individuals, as well as the different teams that make up the university’s athletics programs going forward.
The baseball program is currently hosting the double elimination CUSA tournament May 25-29 at Pete Taylor Park on the USM Hattiesburg campus. After defeating the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) 4-3 on the opening day of the five-day event, the Golden Eagles move on to the next round against the University of Texas-San Antonio on Friday, May 27, at 10 a.m.
Members of the Southern Miss Alumni Association are invited to visit the Ogletree House for a free membership T-shirt featuring the slogan and a bag of swag. Alumni can present their membership card at the front desk of the Ogletree House to receive the items beginning Wednesday, May 25. The offer is exclusive to Alumni Association members only, and is limited to one per member, while supplies last. Items must be picked up in person during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shipping is not available.
