Clarksdale hosted a modest economic development event Friday and we host another one this week.
Coahoma Early College High School could not get much going with any of its running backs, but senior quarterback Willie Eagins stepped up with 177 passing yards for two touchdowns en route to a 19-6 win at Leland Friday night.
Coahoma County High School football opens the season at West Bolivar at 7 p.m. Friday night.
The Red Panthers, a Region 3-2A school, were in the same district as the Eagles in 2018.
Coahoma County defeated West Bolivar in the second to last regular season game to help themselves get to the playoffs.
Clarksdale and Coahoma Early College high schools will play one another for the first time in the history of the two local schools Friday night.
The matchup is set for 7 p.m. at Coahoma Community College.
Both teams played in jamboree games at CCC last week and won.
