Sardis Lake is the site of the 30th Annual Dragonfly Sprint Triathlon on Saturday, August 24. Presented by P.R. Event Management, the event begins at 8 a.m. on the sandy white beach at Cypress Point on the Lower Lake at Sardis Reservoir.
The 19-year-old and under American Legion Panola Pirates recently competed in the American Legion state tournament at Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg. Reaching the quarterfinals, it was the first Pirates team to capture a win in the state tournament since the team was founded in 2015. Four Lee Academy boys play for the Pirates.
