The Clarksdale Police Department and Clarksdale Fire Department are investigating a case of suspected arson that occurred earlier this week.
On Tuesday, Nov. 17, around 2:30 p.m., Clarksdale Police responded with the Clarksdale Fire Department to the 500 block of School Street to a report of a house fire and found smoke billowing from the home.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze while police managed traffic and the public.
After the fire was out a thorough investigation by the Clarksdale Police Department and Clarksdale Fire Department investigators determined the fire was set.
Authorities fanned out over the neighborhood and contacted concerned citizens in the neighborhood and began their investigation.
Police said several hours later, three juveniles under the age of 12 were taken into custody by investigators who turned them over to juvenile justice authorities.
The three appeared in Coahoma County Youth Court before Judge K. Haney on this week.
No dollar amount was given for the cost of damages, but parents can be held responsible for damages caused by juvenile children.
