Barbara Leverette Chrestman of Clarksdale dedicated many years to a distinguished career as a loan officer and Vice President at Regions Bank. She enhanced her expertise by attending the Mississippi School of Banking at the University of Mississippi and the School of Banking at LSU. Additionally, she was a graduate of the Dale Carnegie program. Barbara demonstrated strong leadership as president of the Business & Professional Women's organization at both the local and state levels. Throughout her career, she served in numerous roles, earning recognition as Woman of Achievement in 1982 on both local and state stages.
A devoted member of Clarksdale Baptist Church, Barbara was a Sunday school teacher for the Euzelian Class-meaning "of Good Zeal"-and served as Superintendent of the Sunday school. She actively contributed to Vacation Bible School and several church committees. Notably, she played a key role in the Bus Ministry, helping children attend church. Her faith extended beyond her local community through a mission trip to Argentina and participation in the Prison Ministry.
Barbara was a mentor, friend, sister, mother, wife, and a passionate force within her community— true mover and shaker. Known as a fierce prayer warrior, she embraced every opportunity to share the gospel. Customers often recall the sweet, heavenly spirit she brought to her work, always ready to assist with loans while sharing the love of her Savior.

Survivors include her son John (Missy) Chrestman of Cleveland, MS; daughters Donna (Jack) Clayton of Tunica, MS, Cyndi Chrestman Furrey of Lyon, MS; grandchildren Mary Ansley Chrestman, Kate Chrestman, Blair (Cody) Harrell, Aimee (Grant) Goforth, Callie (Tim) Livingston, Emma (Reece) Butler, Isabelle Millwood; six great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband John Ems Chrestman; parents Fred and Kathleen Caffey Leverette; brother Fred Milton Leverette; sisters Earlene Hammett, Nancy Moore.
