Betty Jo Barham, born in Union, Miss., a long time resident of Pascagoula MS and a recent resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, at the age of 85.
Ms. Barham dedicated her career to the federal government, serving as an accountant for NOAA in Pascagoula until her retirement. Beyond her professional life, she was an avid traveler, exploring numerous states and European destinations. Her passion for gardening led her to become a Master Gardener, actively contributing to the beautification programs of Pascagoula for many years. In addition to gardening, she indulged in various hobbies such as collecting, woodworking, and engaging in do-it-yourself projects. Known for her willingness to assist those in need, she actively participated in fundraising efforts through her church, Eastlawn United Methodist Church in Pascagoula.
Tracy Barham Carag, her beloved daughter, and her sister, Billie Fay Myers, preceded her in death.
She leaves behind a legacy embraced by her son, Kelly (Michelle) Barham of Ala.; sister, Carolyn (Tyrone) Breland of Tenn.; brother, James Lewis (Dawn) Driskell, Jr. of Miss. Her memory lives on through her cherished granddaughters, Sarah (Matty) Linderman of Colo., Madison (Jake) Richey of Ala., and her grandson Canon Barham of Ala., and her great-grandson, Elliot Linderman. In addition to her immediate family, she is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
To honor the life of Betty Barham, a Memorial Service will be held at Eastlawn United Methodist Church (2502 Ingalls Ave, Pascagoula MS 36567) on March 1, 2024 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions, in memory of Betty Barham, be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital
