Wednesday night the Clarksdale Police Department responded to the 100 block of 16th Street in reference to a shooting.
Police determined a male subject was shot in the “lower extremities” and a resident sustained “numerous gunshots.”
The man was flown to a hospital in Memphis for treatment.
Police did not give the gender of the other victim. Police also did not give the name, age or hometown of any of the people involved in this violent crime. Police did not say if the resident was transported to a healthcare facility or say if anyone was arrested and charged with crime.
Police did list the incident as Shooting Into a Dwelling/Aggravated Assault. Authorities did not give a motive for this shooting.
Clarksdale has seen a number of shooting into homes over the past few months with virtually no arrests reported in those incidents.
Police are asking anyone with information about these crimes to call 911. All calls to 911 are anonymous and can help stop more crime in Clarksdale.
