The Clarksdale Police Department has release the following information on arrests and reported crimes in the community.
Aug. 6-7 2024
Commercial Burglaries/Arrest
• Tuesday, Aug. 6, at approximately 9 a.m., officers responded to a burglary complaint the Old MAP Easton building in the 600 block of Highway 322.
Owners of the vacant property, the City of Clarksdale, reported unknown subject(s) removed a metal wall from the building. Approximately 8 p.m. as officers patrolled the property, they located a male subject on the property with a metal wall from the building on the back of his pickup truck.
James Coleman, 59, was taken into custody and charged with Commercial Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools. Coleman was transported to the Coahoma County Jail, pending an initial appearance.
• A burglary was reported in the 900 block of First Street, tobacco products were reported stolen.

Commercial Burglary
• A burglary was reported in the 100 block of East Second Street, cash and health products were reported stolen.
Residential Burglary
• A hot water heater was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Quincy Street.
Shots Fired
• Iowa and Ritchie Streets
Grand Larceny
• An Exmark Zero Turn lawnmower was reported stolen from the 700 block of School Street.

Auto Burglaries
• Clothing and jewelry were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of 8th Street.
• A burglary was reported in the 1400 block of Anderson Blvd., electronics were reported stolen.

• 1800 block of Gregory Cove
• 1000 block of Sasse Street
• In the area of Choctaw and Riverside Drive
• 300 block of Jefferson Street
Shooting Into a Dwelling
• A shooting was reported in the 600 block of Maple St. No one was hit.
