The Mississippi Association of Coaches announced this week the new class of inductees for 2025 for the MAC Coaches Hall of Fame and former Clarksdale coach Henry Johnson is one of this year’s inductees.
Upon the induction of the Class of 2025, the MAC Hall of Fame membership will increase to 276 total (261 lifetime and 15 honorary members).
The MAC Hall of Fame Class of 2025 includes:
HENRY JOHNSON, 26-year MAC championship football coach and athletic director at Clarksdale and West Bolivar; MAC All-Star Coach; nine-time Coach of the Year.
DOUG BLAKENEY, championship track and field and cross country coach at Ocean Springs who led the Greyhounds to 12 girls’ and boys’ cross country teams to a combined 14 state championships; four-time MAC Coach of the Year; member of the Ocean Springs Sports Hall of Fame.
SHEILA HICKMAN, championship girls’ basketball coach at Louisville High and Holmes Community College; MAC All-Star Coach; member of the Ole Miss Athletic Hall of Fame and the Holmes College Athletic Hall of Fame.
CHARLIE JACOBS, championship girls’ basketball coach at Hamilton, Lafayette, Hancock North Central, Puckett, and Kossuth he was also middle school coach at Brandon for 16 years prior to retirement.
ALLEN LUNCEFORD, longtime championship softball, golf and ninth grade girls’ basketball coach at Clinton; MAC Golf and Softball Coach of the Year; MAC All- Star Coach and director of annual coaches’ golf tournament.
LOUIS NASH, 42-year MAC member who has been a nationally recognized championship tennis coach at R. H. Watkins High in Laurel, Greenville St. Joseph and Oxford High;
The 52nd Annual MAC Coaches Hall of Fame Induction ceremonies on Friday, June 20, at the Sheraton Refuge Hotel in Flowood.
