Coahoma County Circuit Court convened this week with the community summoned to serve on juries decide the facts in cases before the court.
More than 100 cases were on the January docket with only about a two dozen of those cases traditionally disposed of over the two weeks the court is in session.
Those brought before the court often plead to a lesser offense and all those charged are innocent until proven guilty.
The cases are listed by the names of the three judge in the 11th Circuit Court District and cases may be listed in multiple courts in an effort to get those cases heard this term. Cases remain on the docket until they are heard and disposed of by the court.
