Coahoma Electric Power Association has celebrated a lot since it was established 85 years ago and brought electricity to this part of the Mississippi Delta.
The local power cooperative is celebrating a new milestone as they mark moving into their new facility at 3355 Rudyard- Jonestown Road.
But some things won’t change with the same friendly faces and exceptional service the cooperative is proud of making the move, too.
“With the uncertainty of events that has taken place in the last year in preparation of the rebirth of Coahoma Electric Power Association, our doors are open, departments are in place and we are ready for business,” said Qua’Shara Monix, spokesman for Coahoma EPA. “As promised, we will continue to serve our members with safe, reliable and affordable electric power.”
The new headquarters is approximately one mile north of the Coahoma County Airport which places us in the heart of our service area. Coahoma Electric serves members from the Tennessee state line to Donaldson Point in Bolivar County. It is not far from its former location in Lyon and easily accessable from Highway 61
The new headquarters includes all administration offices, a larger warehouse, covered truck bays and an expanded maintenance vehicle shop.
The cooperative broke ground on its new facility in July 2021. The new location has a 6,000-square-foot administration building, a 14,000-square-foot warehouse/truck bay and a 4,800-square-foot maintenance building that have a projected completion date of late summer 2022.
“We will continue to offer walk in and drive thru access for our members, however, we realize our new location is inconvenient to some,” said Monix. “With that in mind, we are equipped to offer a variety of payment options.
“Members can download the Coahoma EPA app via Apple App store or Google Play, use telephone prompted services by dialing 662-624-8321 option #2 or by logging on to our website at www.coahomaepa.com,” she added.
Kiosks or payment centers are also available at the following locations:
• Main Offices at 3355 Rudyard-Jonestown Road, Coahoma County.
• Offices at 3970 White Oak Road Tunica.
• Jeffcoat’s Family Market 862 River Road, downtown Tunica.
And in this day and age, there really is no need to drop off a payment.
“For a more handsfree payment option, feel free to set up a draft account using a preferred bank account,” said Monix. “If anyone should need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact one of our knowledgeable customer service representatives.”
