The Clarksdale Police Department has made the following felony arrests.
The charges come after Investigators were informed of the crime by the community and conducted their inquiry into the incident. Those arrested are innocent until proven guilty.
Police reports released the following information about the charges and investigation:
- Ontarious Wilson, a 30-year-old Black male, was charged with one count of Attempted Aggravated Assault that occurred in the 1000 Block of Desoto Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021. Bond will be set and enforced by Municipal Court judges.
- David Linzey, a 28-year-old Black male, was charged with one count of Auto Burglary that occurred in the 1000 Block of Florida Street on August 21, 2021 Bond will be set and enforced by Municipal Court judges.
Clarksdale Assistant Chief Norman Starks has asked anyone with information about these incident to call the Clarksdale Police Department at 621-8156, or simply dial 911. Residents can also call the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Department at 624-2411. All calls remain anonymous.
Clarksdale does not have a Crimestopper’s program, but is seeking volunteers to serve on this program that does stop crime in your neighborhood. Please call City Hall at 662-621-8100 and ask for details of helping to create a Crimestopper's program for Clarksdale.
