The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a homicide that was reported at an apartment complex in Friars Point.
Authorities were called at 6:25 a.m. Tuesday and told a man had been shot at Levee Apartments at 1600 Sheriff Ridge Road.
Upon arrival deputies found Artis Deonte Jordan, 22, a black male, had been shot multiple times.
Jordan was prounounced dead at the scene by Coahoma County Coroner Scotty Meredith.
The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Department said in a prepared statement Tuesday night that no arrests had been made and their investigation into the death is continuing.
Clarksdale was the scene of multiple aggravated assaults over the weekend and it is not known if this homicide was gang related or connected to those events.
