The Clarksdale Police Department is looking into multiple incidents of gunfire in the city over the Memorial Day Weekend and is asking the community help provide information to stop the danger to themselves and others.
Police responded to the 100 Block of Catalpa Street, about 1 p.m. Saturday on a report of someone firing into a vehicle.
The complainant told police that sometime between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. that morning a male subject shot into the vehicle while it was parked in the 100 Block of Catalpa Street.
Police did not release the name of the victim, the suspect, a motive or if formal charges were filed.
Clarksdale Assistant Chief Vince Ramirez has asked anyone with information about this incident to call the Clarksdale Police Department at 621-8156, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or simply dial 911. All calls remain anonymous and cash is paid to those providing information that leads to solving a crime.

The Clarksdale Police Department has responded to the following reports of shots fired over the Memorial Day Weekend:
· 100 Block of Catalpa Street
· 1500 Block of Herrin Street
· Russwin Street
· Page Street and Florida Street
Police are asking residents to call them immediately when they hear shots fired in their neighborhood, give a location of where the shot came from and police will respond to the scene and check for evidence.
