October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Spring Bowlin, Director of Imaging Services at Delta Health-Northwest Regional gave an emotional and educational presentation on Breast Cancer Awareness to Clarksdale students recently.
The presentation was held at the J.W. Stampley 9th Grade Academy facilitated through the Clarksdale Municipal School District Parent Center.
A combined group of 80 students, parents and faculty attended the presentation.
Bowlin spoke about her passion and motivation on becoming a Mammography Tech, as one her career goals.
She also presented an informative presentation on signs and symptoms of breast cancer, the importance of monthly self-breast exams, early detection, who's at risk for breast cancer, getting those checkups and women health services at Northwest Regional,.
She spoke to students on their level while engaging them in interactive dialogue.
Bowlin’s goal was to empowered the students to talk with their mothers, aunts and grandmothers about the importance of breast health.
