Delta Health System has made their second major move in northwest Mississippi with the opening of the hospital in Senatobia.
DHS purchased Northwest Regional Medical Center in Clarksdale in February in its effort to expand quality healthcare across this part of the state. Scott Christensen, Chief Executive Officer, Delta Health System, announced the opening of Delta Health-Highland Hills in Senatobia, Thursday, July 29.
“Delta Health System is excited to open Highland Hills delivering premier care to an area that has been without a hospital for over two years,” said Christensen. “Providing emergency room and inpatient coverage is vital to the quality of life of our citizens, so we are energized to expand healthcare services to this region.”
The Highland Hills emergency room provides 24/7 care from the onset along with in-patient medical care, full-service laboratory services and diagnostic procedures which include CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasounds.
“Community growth is dependent on a strong healthcare pipeline. This happens to be one of the pillars of the Delta Health System strategic plan,” Christensen said. “To date, we have hired over 65 employees and as we expand, more will be employed in good paying jobs.”
Top priorities of the Delta Health System leadership team include enhancing and stabilizing emergency room operations, providing primary care and select specialty access to the region, and establishing and strengthening physician and provider relationships.
Josh Hammons has been named Chief Administrative Officer of Highland Hills.
“The Highland Hills staff has been working non-stop and are prepared to provide superior care to our patients,” said Hammons. “Our employees are honored to be part of this community and look forward to expanding services,”.
