Mrs. Jettie Pearl McBride was born April 12, 1923 to Mr. Buddick and Rachel Hudgins in Jonestown, Miss., where she owned and operated a restaurant during the 40’s and early 50’s prior to moving to Clarksdale.
Jettie McBride attended Jonestown Elementary School and she graduated from Coahoma Agricultural High School and received her Associate in Arts degree from Coahoma Junior College. She later studied Early Childhood Development at Delta State University.
Jettie McBride married Leroy McBride Sr. in 1942.
Jettie McBride moved to Clarksdale in 1952. She worked at Bell Grove Headstart in 1967 which later became Aaron E. Henry where she retired in 1996.
Jettie McBride was a member and served on the motherboard at New Jerusalem M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Irons, Reverend J.B. Woods and Rev. Jimmy Glasper. She loved the Lord and served him until she departed this earth on November 9, 2023 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Buddick and Rachel Hudgins, three sons Larry, Donald (Dorothy) and Stanley (Rosa) McBride, two sister’s Mary Hudgins Taylor, Betty Hudgins Mack and two brothers Alfred Hudgins and Timothy Hudgins.
Mother Jettie Pearl McBride leaves to cherish her children Leroy (Olenza),Cleveland, Jettie Anne, Jerry, Terry, Ronnie Sr. and Sharon McBride, 37 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jettie will always live on in our hearts forever.
