Both Lee Academy and Kirk Academy had their offenses going on Tuesday, but the Fillies softball team eventually prevailed 10-6 at home Tuesday.
The Fillies took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Nyriah Artis singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Emily Grace Smith drew a walk, scoring one run, and Grace Carpenter drew a walk, scoring one run.
Carpenter led the Fillies with three walks in the win.
Faith Carter Bailey had two walks and one run for the Fillies.
Lee notched three runs in the sixth inning. Lauren Jantz, Olivia Smith, and Meri Logan Jackson each drove in runs during the inning.
Jett Harrell took the win for Lee. Harrell went seven innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out 11.
Lee hit one home run on the day. Smith had a four bagger in the second inning.
The Fillies tallied eight hits in the game. Artis and Bella Favi each managed multiple hits for Lee. Favi and Artis each managed two hits to lead Lee. Carpenter led Lee with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
Lee took a 7-5 lead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Fillies extended the lead to 10-5 with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
