Clarksdale High School has not played a game but is 1-1, thanks to COVID and the Mississippi High School Activities Association rules for forfeiting games.
Clarksdale High School will not play football Friday night in what they hoped would be the home opener for the Wildcats.
The school announced Wednesday it would start learning virtually for 14 days due to COVID issues, which means the teams are unable to play sports. The MHSAA rules say teams unable to play sports or field a team must forfeit their game.
The Wildcats forfeited their home game against Center Hill Friday, but earned a win for the game scheduled at Greenville high School September 3.
Greenville forfeited due to COVID issues before Clarksdale High School went to virtual learning. That means the Wildcats get the win.
Coahoma County High School’s home game against O’Bannon set for Friday night has been cancelled. That is the only information the Press Register has at this time.
