Michael Guest made a talk to the Rotary Club of North Jackson this week, listing many great things about Mississippi and professing his love for the state and his country.
He also announced that he was going to be chairman of the House Ethics Committee, which he called one of the toughest assignments in the U. S. House of Representatives.
Guest represents the third Congressional district in central Mississippi, which includes north Jackson and Madison and Rankin County.
Guest talked about many economic development projects underway in Mississippi, including the new Amazon plant in Canton which he said would employ over 1,300 workers during the Christmas season.
Guest expressed concern about the national debt and said the goal right now is to stop increases in federal spending. That would be a big step in the right direction.
Guest also warned about serious external threats, saying the new "axis of evil" is now China, North Korea, Russia and Iran.
