Special meeting occurs after Commissioners address concerns
After some Clarksdale Board of Mayor and Commissioners expressed issues with the rates at Clarksdale Public Utilities, a joint meeting was held between the two organizations.
The meeting was held at city hall on Tuesday.
CPU General Manager Curtis Boschert explained how the rates were determined and that he believed they were as low as any utility company’s rates.
CPU Chief Financial Officer Luke Howard also spoke. CPU Board Member Shirley Hicks was part of the meeting and the other board members were in the audience.
Mayor Orlando Paden, Ward 1 Commissioner Ray Sykes, Ward 2 Commissioner Jimmy Harris, Ward 3 Commissioner Eddie Earl and Ward 4 Commissioner Linda Downing all had the opportunity to ask questions.
