The Clarksdale Public Utilities board voted to hire Mid South Septic Service out of Arlington, Tenn., to do sewer jetting and camera work in an effort to keep storm water out.
“We’re going to do some where we think we have storm water infiltration,” said CPU general manager Curtis Boschert.
Boschert said the line would be cleaned out and water would be sprayed through it.
“Then they come back behind that with a camera,” Boschert said. “Then we can see where we have any problems in the lines.
“We’re going to be checking in the area at the Sunset Circle Lift Station.”
Boschert said the work would be in the area of Maple Avenue.
The timeline for doing the work has not been determined, but Boschert hopes it is sooner than later.
“I’m hoping within the next couple of weeks depending on the weather,” Boschert said.
Boschert said for Mid South Septic Service to come to Clarksdale for one week, it would cost CPU $20,000.
Then CPU would be able to identify and fix problems.
Boschert said CPU officials would then know where repairs are needed.
