JACKSON – The Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau (MALTB), with the assistance of the Chilton County Alabama Sheriff’s Office, recovered a Piper Archer II airplane that was stolen from the Indianola Airport in Sunflower County, Mississippi.

Auditor’s Office Arrests Quitman County Coroner and Co-Conspirator

JACKSON – Today State Auditor Shad White announced that Special Agents from his office have arrested Randy Hester, Quitman County Coroner, and Brenda Pittman, Hester’s aunt, for allegedly submitting fraudulent invoices to Quitman County, under the disguise of a fictitious business name, for services he did not provide.

Mississippi Democrats express concern over “ICE raids” but it remains unclear if enforcement has ramped up in state

The Mississippi Democratic Party issued a press release late Wednesday titled “ICE Raids in Mississippi Spark Concern and Outrage.”

However, the locations of the supposed raids were not included by the state Democrats nor was context provided to point to enhanced immigration enforcement action taking place in Mississippi.
