A Friday afternoon stabbing in Clarksdale has killed a man and prompted police to arrest a woman for murder.
Police were called to the 600 block of Oakhurst Street at 3:28 p.m. Friday and found a 31-year-old black male with a stab wound to the chest.
The victim, who was not identified, was transported to Region One in Memphis where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation by the Clarksdale Police Department into this incident led to Erica Collins, a 29-year-old black female, being charged with one count of Murder.
Collins was formally charged at her arraignment in Clarksdale Municipal Court with murder and bond was set a $500,000.

On Friday, June 3 Clarksdale Police responded to 1840 Espy Drive on a burglary call.
Police reports said once on the scene, the victim stated several game consoles, controllers and Apple watches had been taken.

On Saturday, June 4, Clarksdale Police responded again to a burglary call at 1840 Espy Drive.
Police reports said the victim said someone had broken into his residence and stole a 60-inch television.
Anyone convicted of breaking and entering a home or inner door of a dwelling whether armed with a deadly weapon or not, and even if at the time the dwelling house is not occupied, with intent to commit a crime, shall be placed in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections for not less than three years nor more than 25 years.
The crime is enhanced if they person has a previous burglary conviction.
