Clarksdale Police are seeking your help in finding the person or persons responsible for a Friday, Sept. 2, shooting at CW's Club that is currently being investigated as an aggravated assault.
Aggravated assault is defined as using a weapon against someone and making them fear for their life. It is punishable by up to 20-years in prison and a $10,000 fine. An adult who assaults a juvenile can find the penalty enhanced to 30-years in prison.
Aggravated assault is a felony and shooting into a home can also be deemed a felony if prosecutors and judges wish to pursue it.
Details of the incident are limited as police investigate the early morning shooting in the 300 block of West Tallahatchie Street. The victim had non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Clarksdale hospital emergency room.
The incident was phoned into police as a shots-fired call and upon arrival police began their investigation which led to locating the victim and the start of the search for the perpetrators. Eliza Brown was listed at the complainant in this incident.
The case was assigned to CPD Investigator Grimes.
