U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson is asking the Justice Department to investigate the 2018 jail death of Robert Loggins in Grenada.

“No question it’s equal to the George Floyd situation,” he said, alluding to the 2020 death of Floyd after a Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck for more than nine minutes.

4-H Shooters advance to District Competition

Coahoma County 4-H S.A.F.E.T.Y. shooters recently held their local meet with several youngsters scoring high enough to move on to the District meet.

Winners at the District shoot will go to State competition in Jackson and top scorers there go to the National 4-H Shoot in Grand Island, Neb.
