CCC Men win first round of playoffs, 63-58

Coahoma County High School graduate freshman Bentavious Galmore led Coahoma Community College with 25 points in the first round of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament en route to a 63-58 win at home against Mississippi Delta Community College.
Galmore scored CCC’s first 14 points of the game and finished the night with seven 3-pointers.

Juke Joint Festival ready to restart

COVID killed the 2020 Juke Joint Festival, but event organizers hope to restart Clarksdale’s premier music event on Tax Day April 15.
Clarksdale’s own native-son bluesman will kick off the festival with a free concert. Social distancing, masks and lots of smiles and laughing are required.
