Dear Editor:
I am alarmed that we will have an ugly generic flag to vote on in November.
I fear people will vote against it, because it represents nothing of Mississippi. They will not vote against it, because they want to keep the rebel flag but because the flag is so darn unrepresentative of Mississippi.
Why are some people pushing the flag with the badge on it that looks like the KSwiss shoe logo?
The Clarion-Ledger says it has gotten almost 40-percent of the votes submitted on line! The other flag has a magnolia flower.
Frankly, the magnolia has gotten about 60-percent of the vote, even if it is spread out between four flags. Why doesn’t The Clarion-Ledger make that point?
Why are they pushing that odd looking badge with the squiggle at the top and saying it is the “Great River Flag”? Are people from out of state voting? I know the vote on line is non-binding but, it greatly disturbs me, that I feel it is being pushed for some vile reason. Do they want us to vote down changing the flag, so people can trash Mississippi as backwards?
Is that the game plan?
Please folks, spread the word to go vote for a real Mississppi flag! The flag Number 2, with the river and magnolia has gotten the most votes after the Kswiss looking flag. Please spread the word and go vote for a real Mississippi flag at www.mdah.ms.gov/flagpoll-top5
Thank You,
