Four people have been arrested as of Wednesday on murder charges in Tunica, following the shooting of a woman on Monday.
Authorities received a 911 call at 10:48 p.m. Monday, June 3, saying a woman had been shot at Tunica Court Apartments on Highway 61 North.
Tunica County Sheriff’s Deputies found Brenda Miller, 34, of Robinsonville had been shot and Pafford medical personnel treated her at the scene but she died of her wounds.
The homicide was deemed murder and authorities began their investigation that has resulted in the arrest of four people as of Thursday, June 6.
Those arrested and charges against them are:
• Jaylon Carter, 21, of Tunica has been charged with Murder, two counts of Attempted Murder, Shooting into a Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm within a Populated Area, Possession of Stolen Firearm and Carrying of a Concealed Weapon.
• Dequaveon Spears, 21, of Tunica has been charged with Murder, two counts of Attempted Murder, Shooting into a Motor Vehicle and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm within a Populated Area.
• Jaylin Liddell, 17, of Tunica, has been charged with Second Degree Murder, two counts of Attempted Murder, Drive by Shooting and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm within a Populated Area.
• DeShaun Clayborn, 16, of Tunica, has been charged with Second Degree Murder, two counts of Attempted Murder, Drive by Shooting and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm within a Populated Area.
This investigation is active and ongoing and more charges or arrests could follow.
